Working Principle

The operating principle of tensioning trolleys is based on mechanical equilibrium and an automatic adjustment mechanism. Taking a hydraulic tensioning trolley as an example, when the tension in the conveyor belt or wire rope changes, the hydraulic system detects this change and automatically adjusts the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder, thereby driving the trolley to move along its track—either pushing or pulling it—to reposition the pulleys or guide rails and consequently regulate the tension of the conveyor belt or wire rope. This automatic adjustment mechanism ensures that the conveyor belt or wire rope is always maintained within the appropriate tension range, thus guaranteeing stable equipment operation.

Application Scenarios

Belt Conveyors: In belt conveyor systems used in industries such as coal mining, mining operations, and port handling, tensioning trolleys are employed to regulate belt tension, thereby preventing slippage or excessive slack and ensuring the stable conveyance of materials.
Passenger ropeways: In passenger ropeways, tensioning trolleys are used to maintain constant wire rope tension, thereby ensuring the safe operation of the system. They can automatically adjust their position in response to changes in line load, keeping the wire rope tension within the specified rated range.
Quay Container Cranes: In quay container cranes, the tensioning trolley is used to regulate the tension of the hoisting wire rope, ensuring stable lifting and braking. It absorbs the inertial forces generated in the wire rope during acceleration and deceleration, reduces cabin sway, and enhances operator comfort.
